The system generates substantial fuel savings and provides crucial input to meet issued Required Time of Arrivals (RTA´s), by up-linking tailored winds optimized to the aircraft’s computed trajectory. This ensures a more efficient descent, equating to savings in fuel and subsequently, time as well as a reduced environmental impact in terms of noise and emissions.
Wolfgang Sagmeister, Business Unit Director of Products & Marketing at AVTECH, continues:
“The new release greatly expands the number of aircraft which are able to use the optimized wind selection. This is achieved by use of the AVTECH developed Trajectory Engine for aircraft with whom the communication is limited. In the past weeks AVTECH has been able to implement the new version of software which is presently now interacting with aircraft.”
Additionally, AVTECH received yesterday its second contract for Professional Services in as many months from one of the international leading suppliers to the Air Traffic Management (ATM) marketplace. This contract is for assistance with increasing efficiency of an important airport within Asia Pacific with a contract value of approximately 0.4 MSEK. The previous contract, which has not previously been published due requested confidentially, also had a contract value of about 0.4 MSEK, and was for assistance with validation of flight procedures for a major new airport in the Middle East.
Lars Lindberg, Founder and Chairman of the Board at AVTECH, states: “This signals the beginning of a series of potential consulting contracts that we have been in planning discussions for the past several months. Based upon the established projects that the leading supplier has in place, I believe that a number of contracts will continue for at least another 3-5 years.”
